I've been to this place a few times since the reopen and it's pretty good! They have the common Thai food, curry & pad Thai, but also have other dishes that I haven't seen at other restaurants. So far, I've only had their duck noodle and it is delicious. It is super flavorful and everything goes really well together. I told myself to try something new when I went the second time, but I can't stay away from it.

They also have good Thai ice tea so be sure to order that too!

They have both outside and inside sitting which makes it perfect for summer meals. The only downside of this place is that service is a little slow so make sure you allocate time for that.

Seriously Fremont?  You can do so much better than this.

We ordered the lunch combo for $12.  Pad Thai, spring rolls, and yellow curry for one, red curry for the other combo.   The pad thai was dry, ketchupy and bland.  Yellow curry came with tofu, but my understanding was it was supposed to be chicken yellow curry.  In any case, the curry ammounted to mostly pieces of tofu and potatoes, with only a little actual curry.  Huge disappointment.  The red curry with the other combo was thin and mediocre.

Hard to believe that a Thai food this bad would be offered in Seattle, in a neighborhood like Fremont.   When we walked in, we kind of noticed something was strange: the interior was modern, bright (not type of decor you'd expect at a Thai restaurant).  And the server was a white guy.  The other server, upon seeing us yelled "can I help you?" - which is kind of a strange way to greet two people who walk into a restaurant.  Obviously we were there to eat lunch, lol.    The portions were generous, but we left a lot of food on our plates because it just wasn't very good.

I rarely give bad reviews, but in the heart of Seattle in Fremont neighborhood, this level of mediocrity is inexcusable.

This restaurant used to be awesome, I think there are new owners. I was here on a Saturday night and waited an hour and 20 minutes for my food to arrive. The waitstaff informed my table and other tables waiting that a large online order was placed right before we arrived, so that was the hold up. The delivery person from Grubhub came by and complained about the wait as well
Someone at my table ordered a beer and we needed to remind our server twice about the beer and after 20 minutes, received it.
I will not be returning. The food was really good, but the long wait was awful.

    Kaosamai is back!

    The food:
We ordered the Fresh Rolls with Prawns, Mango Salad, Mama Noodles, Phad Prik Khning Prawns, Kaosamai Curry Seafood, Swimming Rama with chicken, and Moo Yang. Everything was a hit! Some items might be a little too salty for some people -- but that's the way I like it.

    The space:
Big outdoor patio, free parking lot, and lots of smaller tables inside. Random: Everyone (including the staff) will agree that the bathroom walls are kind of weird. (The previous people gave the walls this weird 3D texture... you'll get it as soon as you see it.)

    The people:
SUPER FRIENDLY staff who love and recognize their regulars. This is a small, foodcart-turned-restaurant, family-run business so be a little patient and understanding as they work things out.

    Note:
Many of the older reviews are from before the restaurant closed due to the unfortunate passing of the owner, Doug. Since then, they have reopened and are still figuring things out. I encourage you to give them another try.

BEST THAI FOOD IVE EVER HAD. The Tom Kah soup is so flavorful! The mango salad, and pot stickers will make you phone home to mama. So tasty! The customer service is warm and inviting as well. Josie was very polite, informative, and super friendly! I wish I could give this place more than 5 stars.
